Free throw contest!
Our Lady of Wayside School, 432 S Mitchell Ave, Arlington Heights, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Open to boys & girls ages 9-14. Sponsored by The Knights of Columbus of Holy Rosary Council 4483 in Arlington Heights. Girls and boys nine to fourteen years will compete in their respective age division. Age eligibility is determined by the age of the contestant as of January 1, 2017. Winners will progress through District, Regional, and State competitions. All contestants on the Council level will receive certificates for their participation in the event. Champions in each age division will receive awards. Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written adult consent. (An adult’s signature is considered proof of age at the local council level, however, written proof is required for winners progressing to the District, Regional and State levels). Past Grand Knight Thomas P. “T-J” Lazzara Visitation Thursday, December 8
Past Grand Knight Thomas P. Lazzara was born on March 11, 1955 in Chicago to Peter and Charlene (nee Quill) Lazzara. He died peacefully Sunday, December 4, 2016 in Arlington Heights.
Tom owned and operated T-J’s Seal Kare, Inc. in Arlington Heights for 30 years. He was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4483 in Arlington Heights. Tom loved woodworking, volunteering with Cub Scout Pack 130 and Boy Scout Troop 32, NASCAR, and was known for his “Legendary” Holiday Displays. He loved to command the room’s attention “to tell a story or two”, but most of all his grandchildren were the “Light” of his life.
Thomas is survived by his spouse of 40 years, Linda (nee Suzzi); children, Amanda (Eric) Kopp, Angela (Jay) Doherty and Nicholas Lazzara; grandchildren, Anthony Kopp, Elliot Kopp, Mackenzie Kopp, Cole Doherty and Connor Doherty; parents, Peter and Charlene Lazzara; brother, John (Barbara) Lazzara; brother-in-law, Thomas Murray; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Murray.
Visitation Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Prayers 8:45 am, Friday, December 9, 2016 at the funeral home proceeding to Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights, IL 60005 for a 9:30 am Funeral Mass. Interment will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
